BC Easter Seals Camps are for children and teens aged 6-18 with physical and/or mental disabilities.
Campers must have a BC address (except under exceptional circumstances, please check with the Camp Administrator camp@lionsbc.ca for more information).
Our camps are designed to provide exceptional camping experiences for children with a wide range of abilities and needs. Children whose only diagnosis is Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or Learning Disabilities are not eligible for our program. However, campers who have been diagnosed with any of the above in addition to other disabilities are eligible for our program.
Those with Chronic Mental Disorders/Psychoses, Emotional Disorders, or individuals whose behaviour could endanger themselves or other participants may not be suitable for the program. The Easter Seals Camps do not have the facilities to support medically fragile individuals. We can however, support children who require daily medical routines and medication.
Camper Applications and camper behaviour is reviewed and assessed throughout the camping season, as a result a camper’s registration requirements may change at any time without notice. The Easter Seals Camping Program reserves the right to refuse a camper’s application. If you have questions about your campers eligibility, please get in touch with us at 1-800-818-4483 or camp@lionsbc.ca
British Columbia Easter Seals Camps have a maximum supervision ratio of three campers for every counsellor. Should a camper’s care needs require one-to-one support the families must provide a Personal Support Worker to accompany the camper to camp.
